GM filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Dec 6, 2024, received Dec 9, 2024, about the lane departure. It names 107 model years across Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac (2023–2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 103 model years this bulletin names have filed 7,769 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 51 of them name Lane Departure — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
No warnings of any kind went off; I wasn’t even going 2 m.p.h. and hit a piece of wood that was right on the edge of the grass next to the road at the park. This is dangerous, especially at a park or other places where smaller children are present if I get that close to something and the none of the sensors go off letting me know there…

Multiple times I have been driving along at interstate speed when the mirrors retracted in to the windows of their own volition without the pressing of the button. I contacted Nimnicht GMC and scheduled a service for of 2024 at their Phillips Highway location in Jacksonville, FL for them to correct the issue.
2024 Buick Enclave · Lane Departure · filed with NHTSA May 30, 2024 · ODI 11591498
I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green I entered the intersection, the LKA system began alerting me and pulling the vehicle towards the oncoming left traffic turn lane. I took my foot off the accelerator and reached over to shut the LKA off as it was pulling my vehicle.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is GM PIC6587 a recall?
No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the PIC6587 repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every GM warranty extension on file lists the ones GM has filed.
Which vehicles does PIC6587 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 107 model years across 4 brands (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac): 2025 Buick Enclave, 2024 Buick Enclave, 2023 Buick Enclave, 2025 Buick Encore, 2024 Buick Encore, 2023 Buick Encore and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
