Add your car. We watch the record for you.
Every car you own or are shopping for, in one place: its Safety Signal grade, open recalls, crash ratings, known problems, specs, running costs and service reminders — and everything NHTSA and the manufacturer file on it after today. The day a recall is filed against it, you get an email.

What the garage does
Its safety report, in one place
The Safety Signal grade and score from the NHTSA recall record, NHTSA’s crash stars, and what is open on it — recalls (critical ones flagged), investigations, bulletins, complaints.
An email the day a recall lands
When NHTSA files a new campaign against the model year, one email. One click stops it. A weekly Garage email for all your cars — only in a week something is filed or a service comes due — is there if you want it.
What is new since you last looked
Each visit, every card lists what was filed on that car since your last look — new recalls, investigations, service bulletins and owner complaints, each linked.
Recalls ticked off, VIN where it counts
Mark each recall booked or done and see what is still open — the risk, the fix and the owner letter for each. Add the VIN and the Garage links NHTSA’s check for your exact car and fills in a dated recall disclosure you can print.
Service reminders and a log
Log oil changes, tires and repairs; set reminders by miles or months, and the Garage works out what is due. Download the log any time.
What it costs to run
Your trim’s specs (tire size, tank, octane) and its fuel cost a year at your mileage and your state’s current fuel prices.
What owners report
The problems owners report on your model year, the mileage they show up at against yours, and what a warning-light code means.
A glovebox for the paperwork
Keep receipts, invoices and photos with each car — private to you, never sold. Print its service record, or share it — or your whole Garage — by link when you sell.

Questions
Source: WhichTrimIs it free?
Yes. The garage, the recall emails and the bulletin digest are free, for up to 25 cars. Sign in with Google or GitHub; there is no password and no card.
What do you store?
Your name and email from the sign-in, the cars you add, a VIN if you add one, and the date you last looked at each car — so the Garage can say what is new. If you note them down, also what you tell us about each car: its trim, mileage, service log and reminders, and which recalls you have had done — and any receipts or photos you keep in its Glovebox. The privacy page has the detail.
Do you sell my information?
No. Not your email address, not your cars, not anything you note about them or keep in the Glovebox — not to anyone, at any price. It is not shared with advertisers or data brokers either. The one way anyone else sees a car’s record — or your whole Garage’s — is a share link you make yourself, and you can stop it with one click.
How do I stop the emails?
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and each car has its switches in the Garage. Removing a car from the Garage stops its emails too.
Is there a weekly email?
If you want one. Switch on the weekly Garage email and every Monday that something new was filed on one of your cars — a recall, an NHTSA investigation, service bulletins, owner complaints — or a service you track comes due, you get one email covering all your cars. In a quiet week, nothing.
Does a recall on the model year mean my car is affected?
Not necessarily. A recall covers a build range, and NHTSA’s lookup by VIN is what places one car inside it, with the repair status. Add the VIN and the card links straight to that check.
I saved cars here before, without an account.
They are still in this browser, and they move into your account the first time you sign in — with their “last looked” dates kept.
