If the protective cover is not removed correctly, there is a possibility of the rubber insert and rail spring becoming partially separated on the inner side of the wiper blade, which could lead to poor wiping performance and/or possible scratching of the windshield glass. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to properly remove the windshield wiper blade protective cover on all new wiper blades.

I was driving the car with my wife and dog, all of us got covered in glass and the exploding glass was extremely loud. I was driving ~60 MPH on a new/smooth highway (I-60 in mesa) that was empty (no cars were in front of me for at least 2 miles). The sunroof/panoramic-roof suddenly shattered (exploded) and the glass flew everywhere. Glass fell on my head, everywhere in the car and even damaged the car antenna and spoiler (on the outside of the car).
