The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

This was a certified (CPO) car purchased in April and on the first highway drive the front engine under cover (aka skid plate) came loose and rendered the car inoperable as it was violently flapping under the car and in danger of coming loose which would have caused significant road debris but also had the potential of destabilizing the…

On August 1, 2026, the right rear passenger door of our Genesis GV70 opened while we were traveling approximately 75 mph, approximately 25 minutes into our drive. We purchased the vehicle new on March 20, 2026. During the approximately 25 minutes of driving before the incident, we received no door-open or door-ajar warning.

I exited the car, the car door was shutting, however, not all the way shut. My thumb was between the door and the body of the car at which point the soft close feature engaged, shutting my thumb in the door all the way and squeezing shut. No warning signals. Finger is badly bruised and swollen. No inspections have been done

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Hyundai 26-BD-011G a recall?
No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the 26-BD-011G repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Hyundai warranty extension on file lists the ones Hyundai has filed.
Which vehicles does 26-BD-011G cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 48 model years across 2 brands (Hyundai and Genesis): 2026 Genesis G70, 2025 Genesis G70, 2024 Genesis G70, 2023 Genesis G70, 2022 Genesis G70, 2021 Genesis G70 and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
