Jaguar Land Rover bulletin SFCC_OCT2024_50
What it saysThe instrument panel may display an amber High Voltage (HV) system warning message & a Malfunction Indication Lamp (MIL) at the end of a charging cycle before the charging cable is removed. NHTSA’s full summary ↓
Jaguar Land Rover filed this with NHTSA as a manufacturer communication dated Oct 15, 2024, received Nov 7, 2024, about the electrical system. It names 13 model years across Land Rover and Jaguar (2018–2024). A manufacturer communication is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 13 model years this bulletin names have filed 773 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 380 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
On the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace, the 36 owners who gave an odometer reading for Electrical System reported it at a median of 22,000 miles. That figure is one model year’s, not the whole range this bulletin covers — medians from different model years are not averaged.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, a failure was noticed with a 2023 Jaguar I-Pace operated under the Waymo ride-share program. The vehicle would intermittently stop in the middle of traffic while completing rideshare trips. The contact expressed a concern that the ongoing failure posed a safety hazard.

On August 22, 2026 while driving my 2024 Range Rover Evoque, both passenger side tires suddenly blew out without any prior warning. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) failed to alert me at any point that tire pressure was low. I did not hit any road hazard or curb. The tires simply failed without warning.

While driving a 2022 Jaguar I-Pace for 60 miles, the car came to a stop sign near its destination. At this point, the car would stutter and shake when attempting to accelerate, simultaneously the car would roll back since there was a slight decline in the road. Brakes were full functional throughout this time.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Jaguar Land Rover SFCC_OCT2024_50 a recall?
No. A manufacturer communication is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the SFCC_OCT2024_50 repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.
Which vehicles does SFCC_OCT2024_50 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 13 model years across 2 brands (Land Rover and Jaguar): 2024 Jaguar I-Pace, 2023 Jaguar I-Pace, 2022 Jaguar I-Pace, 2021 Jaguar I-Pace, 2020 Jaguar I-Pace, 2019 Jaguar I-Pace and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
