Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the steering. Nothing here is a rate.

In owners’ own words

The steering started to feel intermittently difficult and then would release. It has been looked at by 2 mechanics and they report that it appears to be a structural failure of the front strut.
Power steering failed. It is currently at the dealership having the rack and pinion replaced
Vehicle was being driven when the service power steering message came on, the steering wheel became very stiff and hard to maneuver. A list of messages also came up on the display, that other functions of the vehicle where either disabled and/or needed to be serviced.
Jeep Owner's manual explains how to setup the vehicle for flat towing behind an RV. Following those instructions, the vehicle does not track well. I've experienced this going through turns. Others report what they call a 'death wobble' while traveling at highway speeds. That's what worries me.
I bought this Jeep new in 2023 and it started making this noise when it had 7000 miles on it. If was normal operational noise, why didn't it have it when it was new? Many owners on Jeep forums (JeepGarage, WLJeepForum, JeepForum, WranglerForum) report: Rattle starts light and worsens with heat soak.
