The loudest years: 2018 (341), 2023 (248), 2022 (205). Filed under the same heading across these years: 8 manufacturer bulletins, 7 recall campaigns, 1 NHTSA investigation. Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the electrical system. Nothing here is a rate.
When the electrical complaints were filed, and at what mileage

My 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been submitted to the dealership for a faulty SOS feature. The SOS does not connect to emergency services and does not shut off. The system stays engaged until a fuse is pulled in the battery compartment under the front passenger seat.
Vehicle exhibited sudden unintended acceleration on two separate occasions, and caused an accident involving property damage. The vehicle, which had been on cruise control, was completely stopped in traffic for 30-45 seconds on I-95 in south carolina.
The vehicle is currently inoperable and has been in the shop over 60 days. Intermittent power loss resulting in losing some safety components while driving such as power steering, adaptive breaking etc On 7 different occasions it has left my family stranded and even once completely locked out with all car seats and identification inside.
Since I bought the vehicle in February 2025 I have reported the infotainment screen failure/ going black while driving. I immediately reported it to my salesman and had it assessed by my local dealership as well about it. They told me it was up to date and they could not find any codes and sent me on my way.
The instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb)…

Wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
