Maserati bulletin MAS004419 MTB 24-35

What it saysThis technical bulletin provides guidance and additional information on normal shock absorber operations that are often mistakenly identified as defective. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Maserati filed this with NHTSA as a manufacturer communication dated Oct 31, 2024, about the suspension. It names 50 model years (2016–2025). A manufacturer communication is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 40 model years this bulletin names have filed 91 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 3 of them name Suspension — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

The contact owns a 2019 Maserati Ghibli. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle drove over a dip in the roadway and the rear end swayed from left to right. The contact stated that at higher speeds the swaying made the vehicle more unstable. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated.

I was driving and I heard a loud noise the axle broke causing me to lose control and crash into 2 park cars. I at first thought I was hit by another car but upon further research I discovered I was not hit. When we purchased the car we were told there were no prior accidents or repairs.

2024 Maserati GranTurismo · Suspension · filed with NHTSA Feb 24, 2026 · ODI 11720130
