Due to an engine software problem, at slow speeds such as stop-and-go traffic, the transmission may unexpectedly shift into neutral or park, or the engine may shut off. Risk If the transmission shifts into neutral or park unexpectedly, or if the engine shuts down without warning, it can increase the risk of a crash. Fix Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will re-flash the software for the engine control module, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 2018. A resistor in the low pressure fuel pump resistor may fail, causing a loss of engine power or a stall. Risk A stall can increase the risk of a crash. Fix Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump resistor cable assembly, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed 11/28/2017. Owners will receive a second notice when the remedy is available. The most serious recall counts in full and each further one counts 85% of the one before, because a vehicle sold in millions is recalled more often than a rare one without being more dangerous — and because a flat subtraction bottomed the scale out, scoring a vehicle with 22 recalls within a point of one with six. A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 70, D ≥ 60, otherwise F. Read it as what it counts: recall campaigns on the federal record, weighted by severity.
