Stellantis bulletin S2502000001

What it saysLower Ball Joint / Lower Control Arm Servicing Updates. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Stellantis filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Dec 1, 2025, received Dec 11, 2025, about the suspension. It names 18 model years across Jeep and Ram (2019–2026). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 18 model years this bulletin names have filed 4,745 complaints with NHTSA since 2015.

Suspension geometry is wrong causing rapid tire wear and heat. Dealership says it’s normal wear for this car with air ride suspension and engine power. I’ve had the alignment checked multiple times and told it is correct. This is causing excessive wear of the tires and causes a bad vibration like a tire belt is broken.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer · Suspension · filed with NHTSA Aug 9, 2026

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated while reversing out of the driveway, there was a loud booming sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the rear driver’s side rim and tire had exploded, leaving shards of metal and rubber on the ground.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer · Suspension · filed with NHTSA Jan 5, 2023

This is a new 2023 Grand Jeep Wagoneer Series III L with an inline six HO engine that seats eight passengers. After about 500 miles or less, we noticed the vehicle shaking at highway speeds. Since it has only worsened, it has been to the dealership four times for a fix, without a solution.

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer · Suspension · filed with NHTSA Jan 20, 2024

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Stellantis S2502000001 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the S2502000001 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does S2502000001 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 18 model years across 2 brands (Jeep and Ram): 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2026 Jeep Wagoneer and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
