Audi bulletin TSB_2061257_4

What it saysThis bulletin provides infrormation when the Audi connect installation does not complete with MIB3. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Audi filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Nov 11, 2025, received Dec 5, 2025, about the electrical system. It names 71 model years (2021–2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 71 model years this bulletin names have filed 747 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 308 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

BSG/alternator faulty. Started displaying “electrical malfunction!” Had to stop immediately before immediate shut down on road. Problem had been known on hybrid models of Audi specially larger models. Recall/TSB have been opened for those vehicles. Vehicle was inspected by dealership. No prior warning other than that immediate red warning

2023 Audi A3 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Sep 21, 2026 · ODI 11765831

My 2023 Audi SQ5 Sportback's key fob stopped working, and when I took it into the Audi dealership they said that it is a known issue that if you don't unclog the drain (not sure where that is - was never told I needed to do so) then there can be leaks that affect the wiring and the Comfort Control Module, rendering the vehicle unusable.

Water leaking from sunroof drains to interior of cabin. Water getting electronics wet and filling up where the battery sits as well. Both driver side and passenger side. Vehicle has numerous electrical problems such as: Vehicle auto start stop function failing (car not turning back on at traffic light) Emergency indicators not working…

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Audi TSB_2061257_4 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the TSB_2061257_4 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does TSB_2061257_4 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 71 model years: 2023 Audi A3, 2022 Audi A3, 2023 Audi A4, 2022 Audi A4, 2021 Audi A4, 2023 Audi A5 and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
