Problem: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Murano, Pathfinder, and INFINITI QX60 vehicles. One or both front brake caliper assemblies may have reduced strength and could break. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Risk: A broken front brake caliper can cause a loss of front brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the front brake caliper assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 9, 2025. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or INFINITI's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD137 and PD138.

“I have had my 2025 pathfinder act up over the last two months. It acts up at the most inconvenient time. I have notice that it kicks into low gear when I am pulling out into traffic. It will not disengage at all during this time. The only way that I can get out of low gear, is to pull over and stop, turn off the engine…”Aug 25, 2025 · Power Train · NHTSA owner report

Sources & method

Safety Signal starts every model-year at 100 and subtracts points per open NHTSA recall campaign by severity: critical 15 (fire risk, park-outside or do-not-drive advisories), high 8 (brakes, steering, airbags, loss of drive power, structure, battery), moderate 6, minor 3 (software, labels, lighting fixed by an update). Floor 35. A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 70, D ≥ 60, otherwise F. Complaint counts and NHTSA crash ratings are shown separately and are not blended into the grade.

EPA figures come from fueleconomy.gov vehicle records (ids 48606, 48615, 48648, 48616). Recalls, complaints, investigations and crash ratings come from NHTSA's public flat files, refreshed weekly.
