Mitsubishi Outlander body and structure problems, 2016–2027
104 of the 807 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Mitsubishi Outlander 2016–2027 name the body and structure (NHTSA’s “Structure” heading — body panels, frame, roof rails, trim and glass as fitted). The loudest years: 2022 (76), 2016 (12), 2018 (8). Filed under the same heading across these years: 10 manufacturer bulletins, 4 recall campaigns. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the body and structure. Nothing here is a rate.

Good morning. Mitsubishi attempted fix at my hood flutter recall in July 2021 and problem still active. Hood bounces and flutters and is very distracting. There is no permanent fix at this time. Also, the forward collision included in the MiPilot is not active.
Car engine hood shakes violently at speeds higher than 45 miles per hour. The higher the speend the more it shakes. My wife is afraid to drive it. Many other owners are complaining of same issue and have taken Outlander in for service without favororable results. Issue still persists.

Yes — 4 campaigns are filed under this heading across these model years: 26V252000 (2022), 25V507000 (2022), 21V821000 (2022), 16V867000 (2016). A recall is matched by VIN, and applies to specific years; check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

What does NHTSA's "Structure" heading cover?
Body panels, frame, roof rails, trim and glass as fitted. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
