Kia Telluride electrical problems, 2020–2027
302 of the 2,028 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Kia Telluride 2020–2027 name the electrical system (NHTSA’s “Electrical System” heading — wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading). The loudest years: 2022 (76), 2020 (59), 2023 (51). Filed under the same heading across these years: 9 manufacturer bulletins, 4 recall campaigns. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the electrical system. Nothing here is a rate.
When the electrical complaints were filed, and at what mileage
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseFiled per calendar year, every model year together: 2020: 3 · 2021: 23 · 2022: 19 · 2023: 52 · 2024: 59 · 2025: 50 · 2026: 96
Across the model years, half of the 26 owners who gave an odometer reading reported the electrical problem between 3,000 and 45,000 miles. A median of reports, not the life of a part.
In owners’ own words

Day 1 of ownership of brand new vehicle. At less than 100 miles on odometer, the center part of the instrument panel goes completely black and does not display pertinent driving information, potentially information necessary for safety purposes. Problem is intermittent. Dealer is unable to fix and unable to determine cause of problem
UNKNOWN: LCD Cluster Instrument Display went black after purchasing the car for 1 day
The instrument cluster periodically stops working. The speedometer and Tachometer stop working, and all warning lights flash on and off randomly. It shows the doors and hoods opening and closing on the display as well along with other warning lights.
Side view mirror motor is defective (30,000 miles, well cared for). Dealer service department needs to get clearance for repair and do not know when the mirror motor parts will be in. In the meantime, the driver's side mirror cannot be manually adjusted into proper position. This makes left lane changes very risky.
After 3 months, vehicle started showing intermittent warnings at startup related to multiple collision warning systems-- forward collision, blindspot sensors, rear cross traffic. Over a few weeks, it was no longer intermittent and occurred every time. Multiple ACD systems wouldn't function due to blind spot sensor failures.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsWhich Kia Telluride years have the most electrical complaints?
2022, 76; 2020, 59; 2023, 51. Raw counts, and an older year has had longer to collect them; by share of each year's own complaints the loudest is the 2023 (25%).

Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 20,000 miles across the model years; half of them between 3,000 and 45,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.
What does NHTSA's "Electrical System" heading cover?
Wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
