Stellantis bulletin S1805000006 REV. B

What it saysDTC C1252-92 vacuum pump control circuit and or P258B electronic vacuum pump performance NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Stellantis filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Nov 3, 2025, received Apr 6, 2020, about the service brakes — 2 documents under this number: S1805000006 and 1 more. It names 31 model years across Jeep and Ram (2017–2026). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 31 model years this bulletin names have filed 15,243 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 4,993 of them name Electrical System, Service Brakes — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

On the 2017 Jeep Cherokee, the 191 owners who gave an odometer reading for Electrical System reported it at a median of 40,000 miles. That figure is one model year’s, not the whole range this bulletin covers — medians from different model years are not averaged.

This happened on a 2024 Jeep Gladiator. When parking I went to set the parking brake and as I pulled the handle I heard a pop and felt the handle release all pressure. With the handle up there was no braking effect. Dealer repaired by hooking the right wheel cable back onto the bracket located under the center console, and then adjusting

2024 Jeep Gladiator · Service Brakes · filed with NHTSA Aug 2, 2026

After starting the car and leaving my driveway for the last 2days, I get about 1/2 mile down the road and an indicator comes on telling me that shifting while driving can't be done. The car shuts completely down and I have to make a sudden stop to turn the key off. The steeringwheel locks up making it impossible to get out of the road.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Stellantis S1805000006 REV. B a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the S1805000006 REV. B repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does S1805000006 REV. B cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 31 model years across 2 brands (Jeep and Ram): 2023 Jeep Cherokee, 2022 Jeep Cherokee, 2021 Jeep Cherokee, 2020 Jeep Cherokee, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, 2018 Jeep Cherokee and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
