Genesis filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Jul 4, 2024, received Aug 7, 2024, about the electrical system — 1 document under this number: 24-01-051G. It names 5 model years (2023–2024). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication
Built 25 Jan 2023 – 6 Jun 2024 “Produced from 01/25/2023 – 06/06/2024”
Built 4 Feb 2022 – 4 Mar 2024 “Produced from 02/04/2022 – 03/04/2024”
Built 23 Feb 2022 – 14 Mar 2024 “Produced from 02/23/2022 – 03/14/2024”

What it applies to, as the document itself states it — the build window in the manufacturer’s own words, read by machine from the PDF NHTSA serves. The build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb; the dealer settles a borderline vehicle by its VIN.

Certain GV70 Electrified (JK1A EV), GV60 (JW1 EV), and G80 Electrified (RG3 EV) vehicles may exhibit a condition while charging with a 240V AC (Level 2) charger where the vehicle experiences an interrupted charging session or a lower charging speed. This occurs to prevent potential damage to the charging cable connection. Follow the procedure in this TSB to update the software logic for the Vehicle Charging Management System (VCMS), which initiates a self-restart that allows the vehicle charging to return to full capacity once stabilized.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 5 model years this bulletin names have filed 174 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 64 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

ICCU failed leaving me stranded on the side of the road (thankfully not on bridge). This was supposed to have been fixed under a recall the week prior by reprogramming the computer. Genesis has not changed the ICCU so even if/when repaired, it will most likely happen again. The Genesis of Wexford, PA dealer confirmed ICCU and fuse blown.

2023 Genesis GV70 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Apr 28, 2025 · ODI 11657192

Our 2023 Genesis G80 electrified has been towed three times for the 12v battery or its electrical system. We have yet to drive the Genesis once. It is a safety danger which produces toxic smells in the interior and the trunk plastic gets hot to the touch. The interior was impregnated with the smell as the car was closed.

2023 Genesis G80 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jun 22, 2023 · ODI 11528366

While driving an audible pop from the rear of the vehicle was heard. Upon hearing the pop the vehicle warning lights came on and a sudden loss of power reducing my maximum speed to 20 mile per hour. The electrical system failure warning came up on the screen and the car would not accelerate to over 20 miles per hour.

2024 Genesis GV70 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Mar 18, 2026 · ODI 11725201

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Genesis SERVICE CAMPAIGN 910G a recall?

No. A service campaign is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the SERVICE CAMPAIGN 910G repair free?

A service campaign is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

Which vehicles does SERVICE CAMPAIGN 910G cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 5 model years: 2023 Genesis G80, 2024 Genesis GV60, 2023 Genesis GV60, 2024 Genesis GV70, 2023 Genesis GV70. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone. The document itself sets the build window: built 25 Jan 2023 – 6 Jun 2024; built 4 Feb 2022 – 4 Mar 2024; built 23 Feb 2022 – 14 Mar 2024 — the build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb.
