Genesis filed this with NHTSA as a warranty extension dated Aug 3, 2026, received Aug 15, 2026, about the electrical system — 2 documents under this number: 26-01-063G WebDCS, 26-01-063G TSB. It names 1 model year (2027). A warranty extension is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationWhat it applies to, as the document itself states it — the build window in the manufacturer’s own words, read by machine from the PDF NHTSA serves. The build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb; the dealer settles a borderline vehicle by its VIN.
Certain GV70 (JK1) vehicles may experience an intermittent A/C inoperative condition when the engine is started after the air conditioner has been operated with the ignition switch in the ON position. During engine cranking, a temporary low-voltage condition may cause the blower motor protection logic to activate, resulting in the A/C system turning OFF and remaining inoperative until the vehicle is restarted. This bulletin provides the procedure to update the ATCU (Air Temperature Control Unit) software to revise blower motor protection logic and prevent this condition from occurring.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Genesis L21G a recall?
No. A warranty extension is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the L21G repair free?
A warranty extension is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
Which vehicles does L21G cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 1 model year: 2027 Genesis GV70. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone. The document itself sets the build window: built 19 May 2026 – 9 Jul 2026 — the build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb.
