Chrysler bulletin S2523000057

What it says1st Row Armrest Not Holding Position, Being Broken, Being Too Low, Or Touching The Console. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Chrysler filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Jun 29, 2026, received Jun 26, 2025, about the seats — 2 documents under this number: S2523000057 REV. A and 1 more. It names 19 model years (2017–2027). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 18 model years this bulletin names have filed 4,428 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 3 of them name Seats — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

When child was adjusting the recline in the driver side middle row bucket seat, the seat broke. The seat no longer stays in any recline position, and the seat no longer latches into place at the base and slides forwards and backwards. A system within the seat has failed.

2020 Chrysler Voyager · Seats · filed with NHTSA Sep 10, 2024 · ODI 11613876

The contact owns a 2026 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that on the day of purchasing the vehicle, the contact tested the electronic motor resistance-sensing system for the third-row seats; however, the seat failed to stop and reverse and continued to move.

2026 Chrysler Pacifica · Seats · filed with NHTSA Aug 21, 2026 · ODI 11758534

Our second row seat on the passenger side has a head rest that will not fold upright and lock into place. The seat itself is useless due to the headrest not folding up correctly and is a safety hazard for anyone to sit in it.

2021 Chrysler Voyager · Seats · filed with NHTSA Mar 4, 2024 · ODI 11575212

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Chrysler S2523000057 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the S2523000057 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Stellantis warranty extension on file lists the ones Stellantis has filed.

Which vehicles does S2523000057 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 19 model years: 2027 Chrysler Pacifica, 2026 Chrysler Pacifica, 2025 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Chrysler Pacifica, 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2022 Chrysler Pacifica and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
