All maintenance done to vehicle at recommended/required timeframes. After my 2nd oil change while driving the car stalled with no indicators on dash on a main road with a speed limit of 45mph, car did not re-start until 2nd or 3rd attempt. This was the 1st time this had happened.

About a week ago my Jeep Renegade started stalling in the middle of driving on the road, it also struggles a little to start back up after said stalling. I AM very concerned about this safety issue since I have a 4 year old child and she was present in the vehicle on two occasions when the stalling happen.

Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communications

Are fuel system problems common on the 2017 Jeep Renegade?

They are documented: NHTSA holds 127 owner complaints naming the fuel system on this model year (22% of everything owners filed about it), and 1 recall is filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.

Is there a recall for the fuel system on the 2017 Jeep Renegade?

Yes — one campaign is filed under this heading: 18V731000. A recall is matched by VIN; check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

When do fuel system problems show up on the 2017 Jeep Renegade?

Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 30,000 miles; half of them between 20,000 and 45,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.

What does NHTSA's "Fuel/Propulsion System" heading cover?

Fuel tanks, lines, pumps and injection — and on an EV, the propulsion battery and motors. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
