263 of the 1,691 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Jeep Renegade 2016–2023 name the fuel system (NHTSA’s “Fuel/Propulsion System” heading — fuel tanks, lines, pumps and injection — and on an EV, the propulsion battery and motors). The loudest years: 2017 (127), 2018 (99), 2016 (28). Filed under the same heading across these years: 2 manufacturer bulletins, 1 recall campaign. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the fuel system. Nothing here is a rate.

All maintenance done to vehicle at recommended/required timeframes. After my 2nd oil change while driving the car stalled with no indicators on dash on a main road with a speed limit of 45mph, car did not re-start until 2nd or 3rd attempt. This was the 1st time this had happened.
About a week ago my Jeep Renegade started stalling in the middle of driving on the road, it also struggles a little to start back up after said stalling. I AM very concerned about this safety issue since I have a 4 year old child and she was present in the vehicle on two occasions when the stalling happen.
When attempting to accelerate from a stopped position on a driveway the car stalled and the onboard display read "shift into gear". A full loss of power to the engine and transmission occurred. Car had to be restarted to resume driving of the vehicle. The restart was very rough, as if it needed gas.
8 days after purchasing the car, with around 250 miles on it the car stalled in a the middle of the road. I was going about 25 MPH. It stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely. I put it in park and turned it back on, as soon as I put it back in drive it died again.
Ongoing Recall Issue – 2016 Jeep Renegade (Recall U90) This Recall came out 06/16/2022 when I connect the dealership they keep say its backorder and that they have no ETA on.
