Honda Prologue transmission and drivetrain problems, 2024–2026
182 of the 1,002 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Honda Prologue 2024–2026 name the transmission and drivetrain (NHTSA’s “Power Train” heading — the transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles and differentials — NHTSA files them under one heading). The loudest years: 2024 (154), 2025 (28). Filed under the same heading across these years: 1 manufacturer bulletin. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the transmission and drivetrain. Nothing here is a rate.

When turning left or right i am getting a clicking noise dealership is ordering 2 drive axels parts on back order no eta!
Front CV axles are bad. Honda dealer diagnosed front left axle as needing to be replaced. Front right axle is now behaving the same. Parts are on back order. I am forced to live with a loud/malfunctioning CV axle
I noticed the CV axle grease coming out of the boot onto the wheel a few days from taking delivery from dealership at around 400 miles. In a few weeks the CV joint started making noise. I have an appointment at the dealership currently. I am ASE certified and know what a CV axle failure looks and sounds like
I am reporting multiple safety-related failures with my 2025 Honda Prologue. The vehicle has an unresolved drivetrain/axle defect that affects safe operation, and the dealer has stated that axle components are on backorder with no repair timeline.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsWhich Honda Prologue years have the most transmission and drivetrain complaints?
2024, 154; 2025, 28. Raw counts, and an older year has had longer to collect them; by share of each year's own complaints the loudest is the 2025 (19%).
Is there a recall for the transmission and drivetrain on the Honda Prologue?
No recall campaign is filed under this heading on any of these model years. A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do transmission and drivetrain problems show up on the Honda Prologue?
Too few of the complaints carry an odometer reading to say.
What does NHTSA's "Power Train" heading cover?
The transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles and differentials — NHTSA files them under one heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
