Honda Prologue backup camera and parking sensor problems, 2024–2026

61 of the 1,002 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Honda Prologue 2024–2026 name the backup camera and parking sensors (NHTSA’s “Back Over Prevention” heading — the backup camera and rear parking sensors). The loudest years: 2024 (59), 2026 (2). Filed under the same heading across these years: 2 recall campaigns. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

One row per model year on file, newest first. A year marked in depth has its own page: the complaints, the owners’ words and every document under this heading for that year.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the backup camera and parking sensors. Nothing here is a rate.

I cannot reverse with my car slamming on the brakes and it thinks I'm going to hit something when no one is behind

When going in reverse my Prologue will slam on the brakes even when there is nothing behind me
Back Over Prevention May 19, 2025 NHTSA owner report
On August 23, 2026, I was backing my 2026 Honda Prologue Touring out of a parking space at a Costco parking lot in Cedar Park. I was reversing very slowly, at below walking speed, and repeatedly applying light brake pressure because of interruptions and pedestrian traffic in the lot.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communications

Which Honda Prologue years have the most backup camera and parking sensor complaints?

2024, 59; 2026, 2. Raw counts, and an older year has had longer to collect them; by share of each year's own complaints the loudest is the 2026 (18%).

Is there a recall for the backup camera and parking sensors on the Honda Prologue?

Yes — 2 campaigns are filed under this heading across these model years: 26V306000 (2025), 26V112000 (2024). A recall is matched by VIN, and applies to specific years; check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

When do backup camera and parking sensor problems show up on the Honda Prologue?

Too few of the complaints carry an odometer reading to say.

What does NHTSA's "Back Over Prevention" heading cover?

The backup camera and rear parking sensors. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
