The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while her husband was driving 40-45 MPH, the vehicle experienced reduced engine power and failed to exceed 30 MPH. The driver was able to pull to the side of the road. The driver turned off and restarted the vehicle.

When the truck reaches approximately 50mph it is unable to shift into the next gears and then it's unable to downshift. The transmission will not go into neutral. The truck must be stopped and turned off, sometimes it will need to be restarted 2x before it's able to shift into first gear.

The contact stated while attempting to park the vehicle inside a parking lot, the contact attempted to shift to park(P); however, the shifter handle fractured, and the vehicle remained in drive(D). The contact restarted the vehicle and the message that the "Vehicle in Gear" message was displayed.

The transmission failed without warning. The truck jerked several times and wouldn't go forward, eventually stopping, putting the driver at risk of being hit or losing control. There were no warning lights or issues prior to this. It was towed to the dealer who knew immediately that the transmission valve body had failed.
