While driving the vehicle, the radio will suddenly and instantly jump to full volume frightening the driver and passengers and making it hard to focus on the road and control the vehicle. The dealership and GM will not fix the issue as it happens intermittently
Unwanted Radio Volume Ramp Up to Max: The radio volume turned up to the maximum while driving and could not be turned down with user controls including those both on the steering wheel and the volume knob on the dash. The situation lasted about 60 seconds before it began responding again.
The vehicle is brand new with only 300 miles on the clock. Today while driving to work and listening to XM-radio the volume spiked to max and would not respond to controls to lower volume or turn off. I was able to lower by switching to a different output.
On multiple occasions the Radio has went to max volume for approximately 2-3 seconds then shuts off and goes through a reset. This situation can cause the driver to be suddenly distracted put the driver and others at risk of an accident

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsAre electrical problems common on the 2022 GMC Sierra?
They are documented: NHTSA holds 82 owner complaints naming the electrical system on this model year (14% of everything owners filed about it), and 423 manufacturer bulletins are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.
Is there a recall for the electrical system on the 2022 GMC Sierra?
No recall campaign is filed under this heading for this model year (there are 6 filed under other headings). A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do electrical problems show up on the 2022 GMC Sierra?
Too few of the complaints carry an odometer reading to say. The model year's page shows the mileage curve across every system where it can.
What does NHTSA's "Electrical System" heading cover?
Wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
