Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the brakes. Nothing here is a rate.

On 7/16/2020 my 2017 Ford Edge experienced a loss of brakes while driving. The vehicle was was approaching a busy intersection when the failure occurred. The brake pedal went to the floor and the emergency brake had to be used to avoid a collision.
On 02/20/2020 while driving the vehicle on a city street and approaching a stop light the brake pedal went to the floor and was difficult to stop. Shortly after a indicator light showed that my brake fluid level was low. The vehicle was limped home and parked in driveway.
Driving on fl highway, at of speed of 65 MPH, breaks went down to floor nearly ramming into back of another vehicle. Had to swerve onto shoulder vehicle then stopped. Had to continue onto nearest Ford dealer service and brake was making air leak noises and would not completely stop, even at red lights.
While driving the brakes failed, pedal went to the floor and I could not stop. Dealer said front brake lines had failed, one burst and the other had a large bubble in the line. Vehicle has 40,000 miles on it.
