Counts are owner reports to NHTSA, not verified defects, and scale with how many of these were sold; nothing here is a rate. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so “Engine” means the same area of the vehicle, not one fault.

2020 Chevy blazer with 50,000 miles just had to have the thermostat housing replaced. Check engine light would everntually come on. But it would say "Steering assist reduced drive with care" When hooked up to the computer it read code P0128.
Approximately three weeks ago, our 2020 Chevrolet Blazer's check engine light came on. It has a little over 63,000 miles on it. I took it to a private service garage where they diagnosed the code as P0128, or coolant system issue. They concluded that it was the thermostat.
This vehicle is currently on its third radiator since it was purchased, 4 years ago. That’s almost 1 radiator per year. The vehicle also has transmission issues on the highway. The dealer replaced the torque converter but vehicle is still hesitant and bucking on the highway.
The "steering assist reduced; drive with care" notification began coming on the dash with significant changes in outdoor temperature, as of last fall 2023. The temperature gauge on the dash would then not work and would remain at cold.
My vehicle needs a new purge pump which is part of the emissions system. This is a common problem on this vehicle so it should be covered by GM since it is part of the emissions system

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsAre engine problems common on the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer?
They are documented: NHTSA holds 71 owner complaints naming the engine on this model year (32% of everything owners filed about it), and 223 manufacturer bulletins are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.
Is there a recall for the engine on the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer?
No recall campaign is filed under this heading for this model year (there are 3 filed under other headings). A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do engine problems show up on the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer?
Too few of the complaints carry an odometer reading to say. The model year's page shows the mileage curve across every system where it can.
What does NHTSA's "Engine" heading cover?
The engine and its cooling system. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
