Mercedes-Benz filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Sep 26, 2026, received Oct 28, 2026. It names 7 model years (2019–2026). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationFuel Level Unchanged After Refueling Complaint The customer reports that the fuel gauge shows inaccurate readings or remains unchanged after refueling. Cause The fuel level display may be incorrect due to one or both of the following conditions: 1. The Fuel Supply Control Unit (FSCU) may not recognize a refueling event if the Controller Area Network (CAN) does not enter sleep mode. This may occur if the vehicle is refueled with the engine running, the ignition is switched on during refueling, or aftermarket or upfitter‑installed equipment keeps the vehicle powered. 2. The fuel level sensor float or sensor arm may be restricted by the low‑pressure fuel pump pickup tube, fuel lines, electrical wiring, or an incorrectly positioned component. The fuel level sensor may become stuck above or below the pickup tube and indicate an incorrect fuel level. Similar FSCU actual values do not rule out a mechanical restriction. The fuel level sensor may be physically held at an incorrect position while the two actual values remain similar.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Mercedes-Benz LI47_00-N-069565_6_en a recall?
No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the LI47_00-N-069565_6_en repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Mercedes-Benz warranty extension on file lists the ones Mercedes-Benz has filed.
Which vehicles does LI47_00-N-069565_6_en cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 7 model years: 2026 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
