Stellantis bulletin S2623000056

What it saysThe Door Latch Module Has Active Faults With No Warning Indicators In Cluster NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Stellantis filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Oct 2, 2026, received Oct 7, 2026, about the electrical system. It names 10 model years across Jeep and Dodge (2024–2027). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 9 model years this bulletin names have filed 234 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 144 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

I am filing a safety defect complaint regarding a 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona (400V electric vehicle platform) that suffered a catastrophic high-voltage system shutdown at approximately 1,261 miles. The vehicle had charge remaining and was being prepared for charging when it experienced a forced EV system shutdown and would not restart.

Battery failure after car wasn’t driven over the weekend. Left me stranded and had to get the vehicle jumped in order to take it into the dealership. If this had occurred in I climate weather it could have placed me and my family in danger. This is the second such failure we have experienced since owning the vehicle.

For the past year I have been dealing with multiple vehicle failures with our 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. I have worked with my dealer a dozen times. Adnt he vehicle has been under service for roughly 13 weeks. Each time the dealership tells me the issue was a software update or they were not able to "recreate the issue".

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Stellantis S2623000056 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the S2623000056 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Stellantis warranty extension on file lists the ones Stellantis has filed.

Which vehicles does S2623000056 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 10 model years across 2 brands (Jeep and Dodge): 2027 Dodge Charger, 2026 Dodge Charger, 2025 Dodge Charger, 2024 Dodge Charger, 2026 Jeep Cherokee, 2026 Jeep Recon and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
