Jeep bulletin 08-094-25

What it says"Flash: Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module Updates Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes… NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Jeep filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated May 21, 2025, received Apr 8, 2025, about the steering — 2 documents under this number: 08-094-25 REV. A and 1 more. It names 2 model years (2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication
Built on or before 27 Jan 2025 “Built on or before January 27, 2025”

What it applies to, as the document itself states it — the build window in the manufacturer’s own words, read by machine from the PDF NHTSA serves. The build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb; the dealer settles a borderline vehicle by its VIN.

"Flash: Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module Updates Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs): ● **U0420-00 - Invalid Data Received From Power Steering Control Module.** ● C2217-00 - Electric Power Steering Module Internal. ● C221F-00 - ECU Not Initialized. ● C1592-00 - Electronic Power Steering Motor Circuit. ● C1593-00 - Steering Torque Sensor Circuit. Customers may also experience the following: ● Loss of steering assist and/or a steering warning light on in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). NOTE: **If the power steering assist is lost, it will remain out until the next key cycle. This bulletin involves updating the EPS module with the latest available software. "

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 2 model years this bulletin names have filed 67 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 46 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

For the past year I have been dealing with multiple vehicle failures with our 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. I have worked with my dealer a dozen times. Adnt he vehicle has been under service for roughly 13 weeks. Each time the dealership tells me the issue was a software update or they were not able to "recreate the issue".

2025 Jeep Wagoneer · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jul 10, 2026 · ODI 11749619

I purchased this vehicle 04/15/2025. Starting at less than 500 miles the Blind Spot Indicator Warning Lights along with the ABS Braking System Warning Lights randomly come on while driving. To receive random warning light notices and sounds while driving is extremely startling and concerning.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Aug 16, 2025 · ODI 11681033

Rear climate control system fails to provide cooled air to the second and third rows during normal vehicle operation. Front vents produce cold air while rear vents blow warm to hot air despite temperature settings at minimum, high fan speed, and recirculation enabled.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Jeep 08-094-25 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the 08-094-25 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Stellantis warranty extension on file lists the ones Stellantis has filed.

Which vehicles does 08-094-25 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 2 model years: 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone. The document itself sets the build window: built on or before 27 Jan 2025 — the build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb.
