What it saysGenesis is extending the warranty coverage for the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and ICCU fuse to 15 years/180,000 miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use (whichever occurs first)… NHTSA’s full summary ↓
Genesis filed this with NHTSA as a warranty extension dated Aug 3, 2026, received Jun 23, 2026, about the fuel/propulsion system — 4 documents under this number: Z06G OL, 26-EV-004G DCS, 26-EV-004G DN, 26-EV-004G TSB. It names 9 model years (2023–2025). A warranty extension is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationPicked out of NHTSA’s summary below, word for word. The document itself is the record, and the dealer checks the VIN.
What it applies to, as the document itself states it — the build window in the manufacturer’s own words, read by machine from the PDF NHTSA serves. The build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb; the dealer settles a borderline vehicle by its VIN.
Genesis is extending the warranty coverage for the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) and ICCU fuse to 15 years/180,000 miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use (whichever occurs first) and is valid for original and subsequent owners. Follow the flowchart in Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 26-EV-004G to check for an active or stored occurrence of any Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) that requires replacement of the ICCU and replace the ICCU and ICCU fuse if necessary. Some vehicles may have an active DTC that requires ICCU replacement. Please note that any vehicles under 15 years/180,000 miles are covered by this TSB, even if vehicle is within High Voltage Warranty of 10 years/120,000 miles.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 9 model years this bulletin names have filed 226 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 110 of them name Electrical System, Fuel/Propulsion System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
ICCU failed leaving me stranded on the side of the road (thankfully not on bridge). This was supposed to have been fixed under a recall the week prior by reprogramming the computer. Genesis has not changed the ICCU so even if/when repaired, it will most likely happen again. The Genesis of Wexford, PA dealer confirmed ICCU and fuse blown.

Our 2023 Genesis G80 electrified has been towed three times for the 12v battery or its electrical system. We have yet to drive the Genesis once. It is a safety danger which produces toxic smells in the interior and the trunk plastic gets hot to the touch. The interior was impregnated with the smell as the car was closed.

While crossing through an intersection, the vehicle began to shutter and would not accelerate. I had just enough power to turn into a store parking lot where the vehicle lost all power, illuminated the battery warning light, and would not restart. After 30-45 minutes, the vehicle was able to start again using a jump box.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Genesis Z06G a recall?
No. A warranty extension is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the Z06G repair free?
A warranty extension is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
Which vehicles does Z06G cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 9 model years: 2025 Genesis G80, 2024 Genesis G80, 2023 Genesis G80, 2025 Genesis GV60, 2024 Genesis GV60, 2023 Genesis GV60 and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone. The document itself sets the build window: built 4 Feb 2022 – 19 Oct 2024; built 25 Jan 2023 – 11 Dec 2024; built 23 Feb 2022 – 22 Aug 2024 — the build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb.
