GM service campaign N242452130
What it saysCertain vehicles listed above may have a condition in which the Engine Control Module (ECM) does not sufficiently control fuel injector flow rate under certain driving conditions. NHTSA’s full summary ↓
GM filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Mar 3, 2025, about the engine. It names 8 model years across Chevrolet and GMC (2023–2024). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (5 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches GM’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote.
The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 8 model years this bulletin names have filed 2,169 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 875 of them name Engine — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
On the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado, the 30 owners who gave an odometer reading for Engine reported it at a median of 40,000 miles. That figure is one model year’s, not the whole range this bulletin covers — medians from different model years are not averaged.
2 incidents. 1. The blind spot indication (driver side) gives false readings sometimes. Will light up at various times in clear weather with no vehicle next to me. Sensors checked and were clean. 2. The vehicle had a dead battery. It was jumped by roadside assistance. When started, the vehicle had a check engine light.

Vehicle continues to go into limp mode causing us to be stranded on the side of the road. It is related to DEF injection system issues. It sounds like this is a known issue with the software. We purchased the vehicle in August and have been unable to use the truck since purchasing as it continues to leave us stranded.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is GM N242452130 a recall?
No. A service campaign is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the N242452130 repair free?
A service campaign is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
Which vehicles does N242452130 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 8 model years across 2 brands (Chevrolet and GMC): 2024 Chevrolet Colorado, 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, 2023 Chevrolet Silverado, 2024 GMC Canyon, 2023 GMC Canyon and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
