The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported
Source: NHTSA complaint databaseOwners of the 47 model years this bulletin names have filed 1,281 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 81 of them name Power Train — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.
The Problem My 2022 Audi A4 allroad began developing a shudder, skipping and binding sensation between approximately 40,000–50,000 miles when accelerating from a stop with the wheels turned. The condition became progressively more pronounced. It could be felt through the steering wheel and chassis and was noticeable to passengers.
2022 Audi A4 · Power Train · filed with NHTSA Oct 14, 2026 · ODI 11771116
I was driving my vehicle when the engine surged and then a transmission warning light came on and there was an immediate and complete loss of drive power. After the vehicle glided to a stop, there was no drive transmission in either forward or reverse. There was no pre-warning and no earlier incidence that led up to this issue.
2021 Audi A6 · Power Train · filed with NHTSA Apr 9, 2026 · ODI 11730290
While driving at normal operational speeds, the vehicle suffered a sudden, un-commanded, and catastrophic loss of motive power while navigating a live traffic intersection. The transmission completely disengaged all gears without warning, rendering the vehicle entirely stationary and immobilized in the path of oncoming traffic.
2021 Audi SQ5 · Power Train · filed with NHTSA Jun 18, 2026 · ODI 11745096
A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Audi A3924642074618_1 a recall?
No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the A3924642074618_1 repair free?
Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.
Which vehicles does A3924642074618_1 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 47 model years: 2025 Audi A4, 2024 Audi A4, 2023 Audi A4, 2022 Audi A4, 2021 Audi A4, 2020 Audi A4 and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
