In Jan 2022, my airbag light came on. I took to local VW dealership (Raleigh) and they cleared the airbag light and said I was good to go. Within a couple days, the airbag light came back on. Took back to the dealership and they said now I need a harness for the LF door, but part on backorder.

They are documented: NHTSA holds 103 owner complaints naming the airbags on this model year (16% of everything owners filed about it), and 3 recalls are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.

Yes — 3 campaigns are filed under this heading: 24V464000, 23V215000, 22V152000. A recall is matched by VIN; check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
When do airbag problems show up on the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas?
Owners who gave an odometer reading reported it at a median of 19,000 miles; half of them between 15,000 and 45,000. That is when reports cluster, not the life of a part.
What does NHTSA's "Air Bags" heading cover?
Airbags, their sensors and warning lights. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
