Jeep Gladiator Pickup transmission and drivetrain problems, 2020

55 of the 483 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Jeep Gladiator Pickup 2020 name the transmission and drivetrain (NHTSA’s “Power Train” heading — the transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles and differentials — NHTSA files them under one heading). The loudest year: 2020 (55). Filed under the same heading across these years: 4 recall campaigns. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the transmission and drivetrain. Nothing here is a rate.

Death wobble and vibration when vehicle hot in different surfaces like crossing bridge wheels and steering uncontrollable at high speed over 40 MPH. Unusual smell inside cabin. This happens on highway after about two hours of driving

I noticed a strong burning smell driving my 2020 Jeep Gladiator while driving a forest access road in colorado. When I turned the car off and then back on again the car failed to move when put into gear. After multiple attempts - the Jeep would go into gear but the wheels never engaged.
