Both the center digital cluster screen as well as the center radio screen have gone dim back in November 2022 and have not come back to normal brightness since. Both are not able to be seen during the daytime hours.
Center cluster on dash (fuel level, eco save meter, etc.) is stuck in night time mode. I've tried everything to reset so I can see my dash durning the day. Its so dark that I ran out of gas during the day becuase I could see my fuel level! Dealership wants my vehicle for 5 days to figure it out and they dont know what to do.
Screen stuck in night mode & I have bad eyes & need sunglasses during the day. Therefore I cannot see my speed or gauges at all during the day. Already have a speeding ticket because of it
Dash lights will not dim and will not respond to dimmer switch. This causes a dangerous glare when driving at night and causes visibility problems. I am unable to drive my car at all in the dark
My dash and radio can’t decipher when it’s night or day. Screen is dark during the day and I can’t see how fast I’m going or where I’m going. It was working fine for about three weeks into me having the car. Now it doesn’t work I just purchase this car. Problem has been confirmed by a dealer. The problem happened on February 25, 2023

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsAre exterior lighting problems common on the 2022 Jeep Compass?
They are documented: NHTSA holds 50 owner complaints naming the exterior lights on this model year (23% of everything owners filed about it), and 27 manufacturer bulletins are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.
Is there a recall for the exterior lights on the 2022 Jeep Compass?
No recall campaign is filed under this heading for this model year (there are 4 filed under other headings). A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do exterior lighting problems show up on the 2022 Jeep Compass?
Too few of the complaints carry an odometer reading to say. The model year's page shows the mileage curve across every system where it can.
What does NHTSA's "Exterior Lighting" heading cover?
The area of the vehicle ODI files the complaint under. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
