2021 Hyundai Palisade electrical problems
55 of the 439 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the 2021 Hyundai Palisade name the electrical system (NHTSA’s “Electrical System” heading — wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading). Counts are owner reports to NHTSA, not verified defects, and scale with how many of these were sold; nothing here is a rate. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so “Electrical System” means the same area of the vehicle, not one fault.

Child locks constantly click, car can be on or off. Dash displays child lock failure
The child safety lock system is failing. The issue started intermittently and is now regularly occurring. With the child safety lock button on the driver’s door (near the window switches) engaged, an audible cycling of the door locks occurs. After about 12 cycles, the locks stop cycling and an error message appears on the dash.
Hyundai issued a safety recall notice on the tow harness. The harness may catch fire during use or when the car is off and parked. Don’t park the car in a garage until the fuse is pulled. We found out in august 2022 during visit to dealership. The interim fix is to remove the fuse for the tow harness. We are still waiting on a fix.
I started my car using my key fob so the car wouldn’t be as hot when my baby and I got in. I walked to the back passenger side, unlocked the car and put my baby into the car. I then walked around to the driver’s side door and somehow the car was locked even though I had just unlocked it.
I was driving on a highway going approximately 80 mph when the car stopped accelerating. It was as if someone switched the car to neutral. The engine completely shut off and I had to scramble to safely pull over to the side of the highway. I had to turn the car off, wait, and turn it back on.

- Some Palisade (LX2), Tucson (NX4), and Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV) vehicles may experience battery drain due to continuous operation of the cooling fan after vehicle ignition has been turned off, potentially resulting in a no-start condition. The continuous cooling fan operation is caused by a stuck relay in the engine room PCB block. This bulletin provides instructions to replace the engine room PCB

Common questions
Source: NHTSA complaint database, recalls and manufacturer communicationsAre electrical problems common on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade?
They are documented: NHTSA holds 55 owner complaints naming the electrical system on this model year (13% of everything owners filed about it), and 49 manufacturer bulletins are filed under the same heading. Whether it is a problem on one particular car is a diagnosis, not a count, and a count says nothing about how many were sold.
Is there a recall for the electrical system on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade?
No recall campaign is filed under this heading for this model year (there are 6 filed under other headings). A bulletin is not a recall: it carries no federal duty to repair for free.
When do electrical problems show up on the 2021 Hyundai Palisade?
Too few of the complaints carry an odometer reading to say. The model year's page shows the mileage curve across every system where it can.
What does NHTSA's "Electrical System" heading cover?
Wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
