On Friday, June 12, 2026, the check engine light illuminated on my vehicle. I took it to my local Ford dealer on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The dealer diagnosed the issue as a defective Gear Shift Module (GSM) and quoted approximately $1,000 for replacement.
My 10R80 transmission in my F-150 as an absolute mess. Brand new, less than 16k miles. Hard shifting up and down, shift delays, & clunks. The shift delay between gear 1-3 (it likes to skip gear 2) is downright dangerous.

I immediately took it to Ford of Columbia in Columbia TN, and the diagnoses that there was an issue with the Gear Shift Lever Module (Part #RL3Z7210AD) and it was ordered.
