There is a repetitive water pump failure in my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. After 3 replacements, they believe they know what is causing it and even though all the failures occurred under warranty they want to charge $2700 for a decontamination in the coolant lines because they now believe that is the cause.
Water pump leak discovered at oil maintenance appointment at 25,000 miles. No service light message appeared. Water pump was replaced by dealer. Dealer notes; Degas bottle low added coolant, verified coolant leak coming from water pump weep hole. Recommend replacement of water pump.
Rubbing noise in tail end of vehicle. Ford has a TSB (24-2185) for this problem. Dealership states it is not covered under the powertrain bc they are not replacing the entire differential but replacing certain parts

What does NHTSA's "Power Train" heading cover?
The transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles and differentials — NHTSA files them under one heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
