Chrysler 300 electrical problems, 2016–2023
141 of the 423 complaints owners filed with NHTSA about the Chrysler 300 2016–2023 name the electrical system (NHTSA’s “Electrical System” heading — wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading). The loudest years: 2018 (69), 2017 (31), 2019 (21). Filed under the same heading across these years: 5 manufacturer bulletins, 3 recall campaigns. Every figure is a linked federal record; none is a failure rate, none a repair cost, and none a verdict on one car.

Two things the counts carry that are not the car: how many of each year were sold, and how long each has been on the road — an older year out-counts a newer one before anything is wrong with it. The share column is the honest comparison across years: what part of that year’s complaints named the electrical system. Nothing here is a rate.
When the electrical complaints were filed, and at what mileage

In owners’ own words

The radio, heat/AC unit, temperature moves up and down by itself, maps, etc... Took my car to my local dealership for routine oil change. I inquired about why my radio was on a constant browse? The technician explained that this has been a common issue with the Chrysler 300. Since then the issue has gotten worse.
A software update came on my screen when I driving. I pushed the update button on the screen and it started to update it stopped at 44% and then my car battery started losing its charge. After a few days the battery was dead and had to jump it to get it started. I took it to the dealer they said I would have to pay for it.
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated that after a rainstorm, the rear seats were wet, and the rear seat floorboard mats were also wet. The contact stated that the radio was functioning intermittently after a rainstorm and was occasionally inoperable. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated.
The center console control that has your heat ,radio ,seat heat control, car temperature control as well as phone and navigation system started acting nuts. Dash started running navigation system to random destinations with distance and time then it would switch to phone and start calling random phone numbers in my contact list.tried to…
It is obvious that this 2019 Chrysler 300 has the defects that a recall was issued by the NHSTA about. My electrical systems have malfunctioned multiple times causing the vehicle to lock up and die in traffic. The power steering would go out. The car wouldn’t want to shift.

What does NHTSA's "Electrical System" heading cover?
Wiring, modules, batteries, charging, infotainment and driver displays — NHTSA's broadest heading. Owners choose the heading when they file, so it says which area of the vehicle the complaint is about, not which part failed.
