What it saysReason for update: * Update the Service Procedure to: - Remove Step related connecting a battery charger - Add Step 7 and Step 29 along with Figure 4 to include mass damper remove and install. * Update the Parts list… NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Ford filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Sep 18, 2026, received Sep 21, 2026, about the power train. It names 2 model years (2024–2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication
2024-2025 Mustang Mach-E on or before 30 Jun 2025 “Built On Or Before 30-Jun-2025”

What it applies to, as the document itself states it — the build window in the manufacturer’s own words, read by machine from the PDF NHTSA serves. The build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb; the dealer settles a borderline vehicle by its VIN.

This bulletin updates 25-2622. Reason for update: * Update the Service Procedure to: - Remove Step related connecting a battery charger - Add Step 7 and Step 29 along with Figure 4 to include mass damper remove and install. * Update the Parts list: - Updated to include rear electric drive assembly studded bolts and nuts to secure the mass damper. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions: * Stuck in park * "Service Vehicle Soon" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) * Illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P07E6:71 stored in the secondary on-board diagnostic control module C (SOBDMC) This may be due to high ground resistance of the park pawl motor.

Trouble codes it names: P07E6

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (17 pages), read Sep 29, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches Ford’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote. Listings and prices on eBay Motors are the seller’s.

Affiliate disclosure: some links on this page are affiliate links. If you request a quote or buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing on this page changes because of it.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 2 model years this bulletin names have filed 56 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 45 of them name Electrical System, Power Train — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

Dash completely turned off. We could not see speed, gear, battery life, etc. See attached photo of the dash board above the steering wheel. Tried turning car off and on, tried resetting the monitor. Dealership service advisor witnessed this. The technician could not replicate it, and they did not have a solution but it is now back on.

2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Dec 20, 2025

Summary: My 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT has repeatedly experienced a complete and unexpected loss of propulsion while driving in active traffic. Each time, the vehicle displayed a red “Stop Safely Now” warning with additional critical alerts, followed by an immediate loss of forward motion with no prior indication.

2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E · Power Train · filed with NHTSA Dec 11, 2025

On Thursday, May28 I was driving my 2025 Ford Mach-2 on Schrock Rd. in Columbus, Ohio at approximately 3:30 PM when the hood (the "frunk") of the car unexpectedly unlatched and opened, flying up to a vertical position and obscuring my view of traffic. I was driving in the left lane of this road at 40-45 mph.

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Ford TSB 26-2421 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the TSB 26-2421 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does TSB 26-2421 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 2 model years: 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E, 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone. The document itself sets the build window: 2024-2025 Mustang Mach-E: built on or before 30 Jun 2025 — the build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb.
