GM service campaign N252521980-01

What it saysCertain vehicles listed above, may have a condition in which the Brake System Control Module does not have the latest software. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

GM filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Oct 31, 2025, about the service brakes. It names 5 model years across Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac (2023–2024). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (6 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches GM’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 5 model years this bulletin names have filed 445 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 93 of them name Service Brakes — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

Bought car on 10/28/23 and as I was leaving the dealership, I applied the brake and the pedal went to the floor. An error code came up "Brake System Failure". The truck was immediately brought back to the service department. 10/31/23- Capital Chevrolet service department checked the error and deemed the vehicle was safe to drive.

The 2023 Lyriq has 3 selections on the touch screen menu for the level of regenerative braking. They are: 1. Off 2. Low 3. High (I did not go out to my car to see exact wording) The serious issue is that, without notice to the driver, the setting can be reset to "Off".

Chevy of Wasilla, AK did not properly inspect a safety recall for the rear parking brake harness. After I showed the dealership the pictures of the holes in the brake harness, I was told that the holes in the brake harness is a feature to let water out.

2024 Chevrolet Blazer · Service Brakes · filed with NHTSA Jan 13, 2026 · ODI 11710800

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.
