What it saysThis bulletin provides information when there is an Engine Start system warning, or a power unit start system warning, B200047. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Audi filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Jul 3, 2024, received Aug 6, 2024, about the power train. It names 24 model years (2023–2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

The contact owns a 2024 Audi A5. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with an unknown warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the parking brake actuator was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the brake pedal was loose while depressed.

2024 Audi A5 · Power Train · filed with NHTSA Jul 10, 2026 · ODI 11749569

Audi Rumble is present on this vehicle, Audi disregards it even after visiting the dealer many times over the issue. Center diff is what is causing it. No issue up to 30k miles, then the rumble started. I am afraid of the drivetrain breaking and locking up during driving which could be catastrophic.

2023 Audi Q7 · Power Train · filed with NHTSA Nov 4, 2025 · ODI 11697332

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Audi A5724492071735_6 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the A5724492071735_6 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does A5724492071735_6 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 24 model years: 2024 Audi A4, 2023 Audi A4, 2024 Audi A5, 2023 Audi A5, 2024 Audi Q7, 2023 Audi Q7 and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
