Broken retaining bolt holding the wheel on the right rear axle. Dealer said too dangerous to drive so they replaced axle. Dealer has old axle and broken bolt. This problem exists in the 2021 F150 Powerboost truck with 9.75 in 3/4 floating axle. Several postings on F150 forum of this happening to others with same truck.

When drive train goes into electric drive mode, the vehicle will jump/lurch/bang after stopping like I was hit by another car pretty hard. This will only happen when the engine either goes into hybrid electric mode or engine turns off after a stop in sport and other modes. It will not happen in tow mode where the engine stays on.

I took the vehicle in for a tire rotation and oil change at approximately 18,000 miles. The dealer informed me that the passenger side rear axle bolt had sheared off and that the bolt had to be drilled out and replaced. The repair did not solve the problem and now the axle has to be replaced
