Toyota filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Jul 1, 2024, received Aug 8, 2024, about the electrical system — 2 documents under this number: T-SB-0026-24 Rev1 (2 filings). It names 5 model years (2022–2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Some 2022 – 2024 model year Tundra and Tundra Hybrid, and 2023 – 2024 model year Sequoia Hybrid vehicles, equipped with a JBL® premium sound system, may exhibit a rattle or buzz noise when listening to music coming from the subwoofer located in the rear left luggage area of the vehicle. This can be caused by exposure to certain operating environments with high humidity levels. To improve the subwoofer's performance in humid environments, Toyota has revised the speaker cone material and shape. The condition can be resolved by replacing the subwoofer assembly with box.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (5 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches Toyota’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote. Listings and prices on eBay Motors are the seller’s.

Affiliate disclosure: some links on this page are affiliate links. If you request a quote or buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing on this page changes because of it.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 5 model years this bulletin names have filed 1,280 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 90 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 3-20 MPH, the instrument cluster multi-information display (MID) located near the left side of the steering wheel was scrolling independently, causing the gauge information to be replaced independently on the instrument cluster.

2024 Toyota Tundra · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Mar 18, 2025 · ODI 11648958

The new Tundra most of the features are controlled by the 14-inch Infotainment screen. The screen has gone completely dark and irresponsive to touch, power on/off, and hard reset by the dealership. Given that so many of the truck's safety features are controlled in this system, the vehicle is unsafe to operate.

2023 Toyota Tundra · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jul 12, 2023 · ODI 11531790

Electronic control module failed due to the cup holder failing. It is available for inspection. Safety was put at risk because the vehicle randomly slammed itself on the brakes, when in drive the vehicle was moving backwards then abruptly braking and moving forward. The problem was confirmed by the dealer.

2023 Toyota Sequoia · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Nov 17, 2025 · ODI 11699849

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Toyota T-SB-0026-24 REV1 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the T-SB-0026-24 REV1 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Toyota warranty extension on file lists the ones Toyota has filed.

Which vehicles does T-SB-0026-24 REV1 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 5 model years: 2024 Toyota Sequoia, 2023 Toyota Sequoia, 2024 Toyota Tundra, 2023 Toyota Tundra, 2022 Toyota Tundra. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
