Rivian service campaign RCA-30-24-002-1

Rivian filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Sep 6, 2024, received Oct 3, 2024, about the fuel/propulsion system. It names 1 model year (2025). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2025 R1S vehicles that may have a substandard weld in a Battery Voltage Temperature circuit connection. This condition may result in the vehicle entering a reduced performance safe state mode, with a "Limited Performance Mode" indicator light illuminating on the driver display. Rivian will replace the HV battery in the affected vehicles. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5; the full text comes from the manufacturer or a dealer. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.
