Check/test procedure: 1. Open hood. 2. Check clinch points against fault pattern A (Figure 2) or fault pattern B (Figure 3). Visual inspection of the 12 potentially affected clinch points (Figure 1). A. If clinch points (Figure 1) are found to have defects consistent with fault pattern A (Figure 2), proceed with Work procedure for fault pattern A. B. If clinch points (Figure 1) are found to have defects consistent with fault pattern B (Figure 3), proceed with Work procedure for fault pattern B. C. If all 12 clinch points (Figure 1) are found to be correct (Figure 4), terminate measure. Figure 4: Correct clinch point If all 12 clinch points are correct (Figure 4), terminate measure. Work procedure for fault pattern A: 1. Degrease surface of work area. 2. Apply transparent seam seal to the work area. 3. Use a paintbrush to spread the transparent seam seal in the work area. Work procedure for fault pattern B: 1. Degrease work area. 2. Sand down work area. 3. Remove any protruding pieces of the affected clinch points (Figure 1 & 3). 4. Restore the paintwork with a touch-up paint pen matching the color of the vehicle. 5. Degrease work area. 6. Apply transparent seam seal to the work area. 7. Use a paintbrush to spread the transparent seam seal in the work area.
