Mercedes-Benz bulletin LI91.10-P-080033

What it saysComplaint The seat cushion upholstery is visible when the seat cushion fore/aft adjustment (SKTV) is completely extended. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Mercedes-Benz filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Apr 8, 2026, about the seats. It names 6 model years (2023–2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Complaint The seat cushion upholstery is visible when the seat cushion fore/aft adjustment (SKTV) is completely extended. Cause The stretch part of the seat cushion cover does not completely cover the padding. Remedy An adaptation must be made to the seat bolster in the form of a cutout. To do this, please proceed as follows: • Extend the seat cushion fore/aft adjustment (SKTV) 2 times • Trim the foam to reduce its height by 5 mm. Remove material along the front section up to the start of the profile (approximately 85 mm), then gradually taper the cut toward the rear. • Extend SKTV 5 more times and check whether visibility is still ensured • If necessary, lightly rework again Note: If too much of the foam part is removed, there is a risk that the stretch will become too wavy when retracted. Do not treat the stretch material in the seat cushion fore/aft adjustment area of the seat cushion cover with steam or hot air.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Mercedes-Benz LI91.10-P-080033 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the LI91.10-P-080033 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Mercedes-Benz warranty extension on file lists the ones Mercedes-Benz has filed.

Which vehicles does LI91.10-P-080033 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 6 model years: 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE, 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE, 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE, 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS, 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS, 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
