What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationSubject: Mazda Rear Brake Pad Customer Service Program Limited Warranty Extension – (CSP14 – CX-90 models) and (CSP15 – CX-70 models) Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to implement two Customer Service Programs (CSP14 & CSP15). The coverage and terms for affected VINs are listed below in this Dealer email and in the Owner Letter. Only certain vehicles are covered (defined as “Covered Vehicle); 2024-2026 CX-90 (CSP14) and 2025-2026 CX-70 (CSP15) produced November 18, 2025 and prior where “CSP14 or CSP15 respectively, are listed in Warranty Vehicle Inquiry. Please make sure to also utilize the Dealer FAQ’s that will be posted on Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS) for any customer inquiries. Owner Notification: Parts to support the CSPs are in production and not available at this time. Due to the limitation of parts availability, there will be multiple notices to customers advising when parts are available as described in the schedule below. The initial customer notification will explain the program overview and coverage terms and conditions. We will also send another dealer email with second and any further subsequent notifications. Owner Mailing Schedule • First notification: Inform customers of the above details (mailing Thursday April 22, 2026). • Second notification: Inform a limited group of initial customers that repair parts are available (Planned to start in June 2026). Key Benefits of the Customer Service Program-Extended Warranty Coverage for Rear Brake Squeal: Mazda is expanding the standard brake pad coverage from 1-year/12,000 miles to 3-years/36,000 miles to cover repairs related to rear brake squeal. The owner is eligible for a one‑time replacement of redesigned rear brake pads at no cost if the brake squeal symptom matches a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) which will be published prior to sending the Second notification. The redesigned brake pads will be covered under the vehicle’s original 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, or 1 year/12,000 miles from installation whichever provides longer coverage. Special Coverage for Older or Higher‑Mileage Vehicles: If the vehicle is over 3 years old or past 36,000 miles, but is currently experiencing brake squeal, the owner will have three months (starting from the date Mazda sends the Parts Available Notice Letter) to receive the redesigned brake pads for free.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is Mazda CSP14 CSP15 a recall?
No. A warranty extension is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.
Is the CSP14 CSP15 repair free?
A warranty extension is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
Which vehicles does CSP14 CSP15 cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 5 model years: 2026 Mazda CX-70, 2025 Mazda CX-70, 2026 Mazda CX-90, 2025 Mazda CX-90, 2024 Mazda CX-90. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
