Lexus filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated May 24, 2024, received Jul 23, 2024, about the electrical system. It names 4 model years (2022–2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

Some 2022 model year NX 350, 2023 – 2024 model year RX 500h, and 2024 model year TX 500h vehicles equipped with a T24A-FTS engine may exhibit a MIL ON condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P05CE00 (Cold Start “B” Camshaft Position Timing Performance Bank 1) present. The Engine Control Module (ECM) (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition.

Labour operation and the time the manufacturer allows

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (5 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches Lexus’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote. Listings and prices on eBay Motors are the seller’s.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 4 model years this bulletin names have filed 207 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 69 of them name Electrical System, Engine — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

my vehicle was boought back under the California lemon lawyer today. It had repeated electrical failures in which the 12 V battery would fail. Lexus was never able to find out why but one occasion I could not exit the vehicle through the driver front door because the electrical and the backup mechanical did not work I exited thru the…

2022 Lexus NX · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Oct 13, 2026 · ODI 11770939

When removing foot from gas pedal the rpm shoot up to almost 4k instead of switching to EV mode or dropping to 1k rpm’s. This has scared my wife causing her to slam on brakes as she thought throttle was stuck since the rpm’s shot up. This is dangerous. It doesn’t happen all the time and Lexus did duplicate it but said was normal

2023 Lexus RX · Engine · filed with NHTSA Jun 23, 2025 · ODI 11668752

When we purchased this car in June 2024 it did not have an engine revving issue. The engine, electrical or transmission maybe all of them have SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES! When driving and you let off the gas pedal the engine starts revving very loudly, it scares the heck out of you because you don't know if you can stop!

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Lexus L-SB-0025-24 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the L-SB-0025-24 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Toyota warranty extension on file lists the ones Toyota has filed.

Which vehicles does L-SB-0025-24 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 4 model years: 2022 Lexus NX, 2024 Lexus RX, 2023 Lexus RX, 2024 Lexus TX. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
