PACCAR service campaign 26PACD
What it says"The PKC Group power distribution center (PDC) in certain vehicles may be contaminated with oil, which could result in a loss of power to the engine, antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, and/or… NHTSA’s full summary ↓
PACCAR filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Sep 19, 2026, received Sep 29, 2026, about the electrical system. It names 12 model years across Kenworth and Peterbilt (2027). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
One page for every brand it was filed under. Each brand’s bulletins: Kenworth · Peterbilt.
What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationWhat it applies to, as the document itself states it — the build window in the manufacturer’s own words, read by machine from the PDF NHTSA serves. The build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb; the dealer settles a borderline vehicle by its VIN.
"The PKC Group power distribution center (PDC) in certain vehicles may be contaminated with oil, which could result in a loss of power to the engine, antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, and/or defrost system. This issue may also result in non-compliance with multiple Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) regulations, such as FMVSS/CMVSS 103 (windshield defrosting and defogging systems), 104 (windshield wiping and washing systems), and 108 (lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment). PDC serial numbers of suspect trucks in the field will be inspected against the 26PACD Suspect Serial Number List in the Links section. If a match is identified, the PDC will be replaced."

What the document itself lists
Labour operation and the time the manufacturer allows
| Operation | Description | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 00470MX | SRT Code B26-38A | 0.2 hrs |
Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (14 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches PACCAR’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote.
The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Common questions
Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5Is PACCAR 26PACD a recall?
No. A service campaign is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is the 26PACD repair free?
A service campaign is usually paid by the manufacturer on the vehicles it names, within the terms and time limit the document sets; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
Which vehicles does 26PACD cover?
The manufacturer filed it against 12 model years across 2 brands (Kenworth and Peterbilt): 2027 Kenworth T280, 2027 Kenworth T380, 2027 Kenworth T480, 2027 Kenworth T680, 2027 Kenworth T880, 2027 Kenworth W990 and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone. The document itself sets the build window: built 8 Jun 2026 – 13 Jul 2026; built 9 Jun 2026 – 13 Jul 2026 — the build date is on the certification label in the driver’s door jamb.
